ABOUT US
Take one world-traveling city girl and one rough around the edges, fast talking country boy, mix in adventure, laughter, never ending language and cultural “challenges”, with a whole lot of faith and idealism and you will get this unique pair.
Yazmin and Alexander. We are a culturally integrated family.
Yazmin arrived in Sarapiquí in 2011 to volunteer for 9 months. Not a day went by that didn’t produce some kind of challenge or adventure.
Throughout her volunteering adventure, Yazmin was able to meet many families and word spread that she was a person to speak to about bringing tourism to the area. Alexander was always on hand to drive her to remote farms and reserves, help carry heavy materials, make her laugh and offer insight like only a local could.
Nine months turned into three years at the volunteer project, working with other volunteers, tourist groups and meeting many families that had great ideas and high hopes for the future. With a background in business, community development and tourism, Yazmin wanted to make a bigger difference and provide guidance to the families.
Yazmin’s fourth year in Sarapiqui brought marriage, a baby boy and a lot of balance and hard work to launch this new initiative. Yazmin, Alexander, Joa LaKai and their loyal dog Tonka. Together, this family hopes to help the Sarapiquí families fulfill their desires to create, grow and meet people from near and far. All while creating extraordinary experiences for the travelers that come VisitSarapiqui.
